# XALT team event 2021

> A recap of the XALT team event 2021 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen: hiking, the Partnach Gorge and Kaiserschmarrn.

It had been two long years since we last organized a team event and most of us had met in one place. For our 2021 team event, we wanted to keep it simple and classic. The Alps, or more specifically Garmisch-Partenkirchen ????.

But first, the whole team had to get to Munich. And preferably a day early. So the day before, all the remote workers and our team from Leipzig let their hair down in Munich and finally got to see (and experience ???? ) the Munich office in person.

On Friday, it was finally time. We headed off to Garmisch for a hike and to the Partnach Gorge.

Once we finally arrived, we visited the ski jump and watched the German team train. Here, as a team, we finally had the opportunity after two years to meet all the new team members in person and to strengthen team cohesion.

Afterwards, we continued straight towards the Partnach Gorge, with the firm goal of reaching the summit. However, it must be mentioned here that it didn't quite work out as planned. Hunger, or rather the desire to stop for a meal, ultimately won out directly.

So, what do you do as a genuine Munich company? Stop for a white sausage breakfast with a hearty sip of Munich wheat beer (this goes without saying here ???? ).

After a couple of Weisswursts and a Brezn, we carried on. Before entering the gorge, we first had to pack everything in waterproof bags. Then it was off. Straight through the gorge and up to the Kaiserschmal-Alm. The gorge is a true natural spectacle. We were lucky that it had rained the day before, so the gorge showed its best side.

Once we arrived at the top, we headed straight for lunch and treated ourselves to a large portion of Kaiserschmarrn. This was also a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better and strike up a conversation.

Finally, in the late afternoon, we headed back down the valley and, for many, back home.
