# Pledge 1% at XALT

Globally, [Pledge-1%](https://pledge1percent.org/) encourages companies to give back to society. One percent of their time, capital, product, or profit is donated to a charitable organization of their choice.

Atlassian, Salesforce, and Rally launched this initiative in 2014. Today, over 10,000 members worldwide are involved. XALT is part of this community.

### Drinking mulled wine for a good cause

Thanks to the initiative of employee Benedikt Dollinger, the XALT team was able to contribute to the Leipzig Christmas market. Together with [Round Table Leipzig](https://rt203.round-table.de/), mulled wine for a good cause was served to visitors. Julia, Ben, Philipp, Anton, and Jan took on several shifts at the stand during their working hours. The proceeds from the sale of the hot treat (there was, of course, also non-alcoholic punch for children) will be donated 100% to various charitable organizations.

In addition to the donation amount, it was nice to talk to countless people about social projects and thereby learn more about the conversation partner. Everyone truly had a story in which the core idea of “doing good” could be found.
And in the end, it is not important how many euros were collected or how many hours were worked, but that one puts the needs of others above one's own and takes action.

### Roundtable

In addition to the mulled wine stand, Round Table is also offering their [Leipzig Gastronomy Quartet](https://rt203.round-table.de/leipziger-gastronomiequartett/) again this year. A total of 32 Leipzig restaurateurs are participating in this action. Each card in the quartet contains a voucher for the respective venue, a win-win situation, as the revenue will also be donated 100% this year.

### The donations go to the Parents' Help

In 2023 as well, the revenue from the project will go entirely to [Elternhilfe für krebskranke Kinder Leipzig e.V.](https://www.elternhilfe-leipzig.de/). Founded in June 1990, this association supports families and accompanies children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer on their difficult journey.

A team from the fields of psychology, social work, and sports, art, and music therapy is deployed to support the children as best as possible.
